Student Space Fund
Dear EUS Groups,
I am pleased to announce that applications are now open for the term account of the Student Space Fund (SSF). The SSF is a fund composed of fees paid by McGill Engineering undergraduate students; its purpose is to maintain and improve engineering space through capital expenditures. The fund can be used for anything from buying furniture for a departmental lounge to buying plants for the hallways. Any EUS student can apply to the fund.
The deadline for applications for SSF term account purchases for the Winter 2017 semester is Sunday, March 5th at 5:00 PM. No late applications will be considered. The application process is be automated through an online form. To apply, simply fill out the two part application form, part one can be found here. In part one, you will be required to attach a proposal (pdf), basic contact information, and any other supporting material. In part two, you will be required to fill the information for the items you are requesting. Part two will be submitted multiple times, once per each item.
- In your proposal, make it clear what the needs of your group are, and why the purchases you are making an application for will contribute to the improvement of engineering student space
- Please include accurate quotes and pictures in your application. If you plan on ordering an item online or can find the item advertised online, please include links
The more concise detail you put in your application, the easier it will be for the Student Space Fund Committee (SSFC) to make decisions.
After the Sunday March 5th deadline you will be invited to present your proposals during a meeting of the SSFC. The date, time, and location of the SSF will be released at least seventy-two (72) hours prior to meeting. Following the meeting of the SSFC, tentative allotments will be brought to EUS Council for ratification. Once the allotments are ratified, approved purchases may be made.
Please let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns. If you are unsure whether a particular proposal is a suitable candidate for the SSF, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, and I would be more than happy to advise and assist with your application. In addition, please feel free to share this application with any and all students and groups of the EUS.
